There are options to cope with climate change - ranging from “do nothing” to “abandonment” and with many other alternative investments and actions in between.

And while the impacts of climate change will be disruptive and often threaten entire communities and systems, some climatic changes may bring opportunities, and these need to be understood and integrated into an adaptation program.

Climate Adaptation Works works with clients to understand and evaluate the adaptation options available. This includes costing the options and evaluating the benefits against different risk profiles. There are a variety of evaluation measures available and not all of these are equally useful for a particular client. Climate Adaptation Works will work with clients to consider which measures - baseline development, valuation techniques, uncertainty assessments and which timeframes for adaptation are viable across the possible impacts. Equity issues may arise that need to be presented to communities and government decisions makers. We will also consider options against the availability and nature of financing for different measures.
